Northern Star

  1. Neither of the two people in the room paid any attention to the way I came in, although only one of them was Raymond Carver (dead).

  2. I woke up in the middle of the night, screaming: "No! I meant Raymond Chandler!" I walked down the stairs, slowly, because I didn't switch the lights on. I swigged some whisky while my laptop switched on. I googled Ben Obsorn blog, found this post, then added a comment. Truman Capote said of the Beat poets: "That's not writing, that's typecasting." I want to die.
